As with most things, it's a question of money. Your help is essential if the Dartmoor Pony is to survive. the money you donate will enable the Trust to protect these ponies and their gene pool, and reintegrate them into the local farming economy once again.

Giving Colt Foals a Future

The DPHT raises funds every year to add value to the annual foal crop. This year we will be gelding 50 colt foals not suitable for breeding. This is a major investment for the charity, but with the support of three local vets: George Austin www.southmoorvets.co.uk Hugh Peplow www.mmpvets.co.uk and Ully Arnold at Moor View Vets Bovey Tracey, we have reduced the cost per pony to £50 per head. This ensures these geldings can live a long and useful life as riding ponies or for conservation grazing.
