FREE HALF TERM EVENTS:

OPEN DAYS WITH THE PONIES - FOR ALL THE FAMILY

SUNDAYS 12, 19 FEBRUARY, 1PM TO 3PM

AT PARKE, BOVEY TRACEY

Come along to meet our team of Dartmoor ponies, groom and work with them, learn all about the work we do to help keep the traditional Dartmoor pony on Dartmoor and about our conservation work at Bellever.

Our ponies are the most important part of our equine assisted learning programmes, called ‘Ponies Inspiring People’!  We are currently preparing for a very special course for young people with a range of life challenges – ‘Fresh Tracks’ – which will involve us taking ponies and teenagers to be part of the Ten Tors Jubilee Challenge in May.  Rolo and George, two of our ponies available for ‘adoption’, are enjoying their preparations for Fresh Tracks!

Our Open Days are suitable for family members of all ages and abilities; light refreshments available and our shop will be open.  A perfect opportunity to find out more about the Dartmoor pony.

Dates for the Diary:  We are open again 5 and 19 March, and 2, 16 and 30 April, from 1.30pm – 4pm.  Look out for some special Easter activities!

We have a comfortable picnic area and there’s plenty of space to walk and enjoy the afternoon exploring the National Trust’s Parke Estate, have a great meal or teatime treat at the Home Farm Café, as well as joining in the activities at the DPHT Centre. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.

DPHT is also keen to attract new volunteers to help with its work, based at Parke.  All enquiries welcome, all sorts of roles available!
